After warning strikes: Post delivers undeserved programs

Verdi continued to put pressure on the fourth round in the tariff conflict at Swiss Post. Because of warning strikes, every tenth show remained. The delivery and at the negotiating table continue.

As a result of warning strikes, Deutsche Post wants to quickly deliver letter and parcel shipments that have been left behind. “At the beginning of the new week, the residues will be processed quickly and delivered to our customers,” said a company spokesman. At the same time, the fourth round of negotiations starts in the collective bargaining conflict on Monday. The Verdi union expects an improved offer on the employer side at the two -day meeting.

According to the company, every tenth letter and parcel shipment, which should be delivered by post-employees on Saturday, had initially remained due to a warning strike. About 12 percent of the average daily quantity of letter and package shipments nationwide were affected by the references to work. It was about 10 percent on Friday.

On both days, the outstanding in Germany concerned the letter, package and composite delivery in all regions, as the company announced. A postal employee explains both letters and packages when delivering the composite. According to the company, around 7,500 employees followed the warning strike call after around 7,700 employees on Friday on Saturday.

Verdi spoke of a total of around 27,000 strikers at the actions from Tuesday evening to Saturday afternoon. “The high participation in the warning strikes is a strong sign to employers that the employees expect significantly more,” said Verdi negotiator Andrea Kocsis. “In the fourth round of negotiations, we expect an improved offer next week that is uniform,” she emphasized.

In the past few weeks, Verdi had repeatedly called up to warning strikes to increase the pressure on employers in the collective bargaining. Consumers were most likely to feel the industrial action last Wednesday when a quarter of the package amount could not be transported as planned.

Verdi demands seven percent higher fees for the approximately 170,000 postman, postman and other logistics staff in a twelve -month collective agreement. For the collective bargaining workers and trainees, three days of vacation and an additional vacation day for Verdi members are challenged. The post, which belongs to DHL, has so far offered an increase of 1.8 percent and later by a further 2.0 percent in a 27 -month contract.
