Zalando has customer service – 450 jobs affected
The Zalando fashion platform for the time being reduced 450 jobs in Berlin. The reason is the restructuring of the customer service. The company wants to hire 200 employees again later.
The online fashion retailer Zalando strokes around 450 jobs in Berlin. The reason for this is the restructuring of the customer service, as the company announced on request. The “Berliner Morgenpost” had previously reported. Zalando wants to stop around 200 employees in late summer. The dismissed employees could apply for the new jobs.
Customer service is currently being handled by three internal companies and external service providers. Zalando wants to break up this structure. The three internal services with a total of 450 employees would be dissolved for this. In late summer, a new internal company is to be founded with around 200 jobs, it said.
This will then take care of more complex customer inquiries such as fraud cases. The external service providers, on the other hand, further more general inquiries, for example on the shipping status for orders.
“We realized that the current organization of our customer service makes it difficult for us to consistently implement our quality standards,” said Zalando. “We have already started the necessary discussions with the employees and their representations in order to find the best possible agreement together.”
