A nationwide -known restaurant chain has become financial difficulties. However, the search for investors is hopeful.
The interest in taking over the stumbling restaurant chain Sausalitos is high. “In the first weeks of insolvency proceedings, around 40 interested parties have already registered with me,” said the provisional insolvency administrator Michael Schuster from the Jaffé law firm. The aim of the process is therefore to find interested parties to take over all or individual locations.
As can be seen from a decision by the Munich District Court, Sausalitos had made insolvency applications for the Sausalitos Holding GmbH, Sausalitos Heumarkt 67 GmbH, Sausalitos Aachen GmbH and Sausalitos Norddeutschland GmbH.
Locations remain open
The company mentioned the effects of corona pandemic as the reason for the problems. Since then, customer behavior has changed that the number of guests has decreased. Income and the profitability of the group have decreased, according to Sausalitos, also due to the tense economic situation in Germany.
The approximately 40 locations of the companies affected by the bankruptcy are still open to the guests, it continued. Other locations operated by franchisees are not directly affected by the bankruptcy proceedings.
Sausalitos claims to be a German restaurant chain that offers food and drinks from Mexican-American cuisine. The first restaurant was opened in Ingolstadt in 1994.
