The actress Monika Hansen is dead. According to the agent of her daughter Meret Becker, the Berliner died on June 26 at the age of 83. The most beautiful woman in the world went, now she was free, wrote Becker on Instagram. Hansen’s death triggered great grief, especially in the acting world.

Hansen was born on April 9, 1942. In 1959 she went to the renowned Otto Falckenberg School in Munich and studied acting for three years. Then she led her path to the theater, including Berlin to the Schaubühne and the Renaissance Theater. At some point the first appearances followed in front of the camera, for example for the drama “I love you, I kill you” (1970), in which her husband Rolf Becker at the time also played along.

Wim Wenders committed Hansen for his fairytale film “A further far, so close!” (1993) and Margarethe from Trotta brought them to the camera for her drama “Das Promise” (1994). In 2022 she was seen in the semi -documentary drama “Rex Gildo – The Last Dance” by Rosa von Praunheim.

Hansen’s special love belonged to her family – they were also closely connected. The actress and her husband Otto Sander, her son Ben Becker and her daughter Meret made many times.

Her children came from her first marriage to actor Rolf Becker, who didn’t last long. In 1964 son Ben was born, in 1969 daughter Meret, but in 1971 the couple separated. Hansen fell in love – in the famous theater actor Otto Sander. From 1973 they were lined up, in 1985 a wedding sealed their love. The children also had a close relationship with their foster father.

Hansen and Sander were around 40 years together and enjoyed social life in Berlin until the actor died in 2013 at the age of 72. She thinks she was very happy to “have you”, wrote a family of the family on Instagram. “Now she’s with Otto.”
