Marta Zaporowski: “Change the pedagogical paradigm”

“Education in Argentina began to decline in 1970. Since then, the school system has deteriorated; there are many generations that do not have a finished high school, ”Marta Zaporowski, authority on pedagogical issues, doctor in Sociology, specialized in Epistemology and Research Methodology, tells this newspaper. “Back then I was doing business training. The big companies created a primary school for their workers, with a two-year plan, and a secondary school, with a three-year plan, until in 1986 Alfonsín created Dinea, the National Directorate of Adult Education. At that time there were already a million and a half children outside the education system, repeaters and dropouts. In the mid-1990s I created the first high school for repeating boys, and in 2000 the crisis forced them all to close. Today, the number of children out of school has doubled to three million.”
