Foo Fighters: First concerts after Taylor Hawkins’ death

The US band Foo Fighters wants to perform regularly again for the first time after the death of their drummer. The first dates are now set.

Many Foo Fighters fans will be happy about this news: The US band has announced the first regular concert dates since the death of their drummer Taylor Hawkins (1972-2022).

Headlining performances at the Sonic Temple, Boston Calling and Bonnaroo festivals in May and June are planned. At the end of last year, the Foo Fighters around frontman Dave Grohl (53) had declared that they wanted to continue despite Hawkins’ death.

“We’ll be a different band”

“Over the past 27 years, our fans have built a global community,” the official statement said. “This has helped us get through the darkest of times together.”

Without Hawkins “we would never have become the band we were. And we also know that in the future we will be a different band.” The Foo Fighters have not revealed who the future drummer will be.

Taylor Hawkins’ death shook the music world in March last year. The 50-year-old was found dead in a hotel room in Colombia while on tour. Numerous substances were found in his blood, including marijuana, opioids and antidepressants.
