Menderes Bagci (38) was crowned king of the jungle in 2016. Now the experienced reality show face gives valuable tips to the “I’m a star – get me out of here!” Season 16 participants (January 13, 9:30 p.m. on RTL). “The candidates should under no circumstances pretend,” he says in an interview with the news agency spot on news.
In addition, the jungle campers should never blaspheme and always be honest. There is a very simple reason for this: “Lies have short legs.” Bagci never expected to get this far. But the crowning of the king of the jungle was “the most beautiful moment”, he remembers.
He had to compete in six jungle tests
However, he could have done without the cockroaches and the green ants, says the former camper, who completed six jungle tests. This test with the lottery was “very smelly or very painful”. In the run-up, he thought about what it would be like to live with so many people in a small space. However, that doesn’t seem to have bothered him, because in 2022 Bagci competed as a candidate in the “Celebrity Big Brother” house and took fourth place there.
He likes the new moderator Jan Köppen (39) and wishes him a lot of fun in Australia. “I think he will do a good job,” says Bagci. The new man on Sonja Zietlow’s (54) side is “very funny and humorous”.
The 38-year-old will never forget his own time in the jungle. “I often think back to that time and reminisce nostalgically,” he says. He really enjoyed it at the time and felt good. It was a great experience for him. “Of course I tune in every year when it says again: ‘I’m a star, get me out of here!'” Says the “DSDS” cult candidate.
