These transformations regulate and restrict vehicular traffic. And, at the same time, they discourage speeding and favor the pedestrian mobility. In addition, they represent an improvement in the urban infrastructure through the road leveling and the sidewalk recovery. Improvements were also made to the street lighting and they were placed new flower beds, benches and lighting.
The main objective is to make the pedestrian feel protagonist of the place and take ownership of it. Other prominent avenues in the world were taken as a model, such as the avenue open paulista of Saint Paul, Brazil; the London Exhibition Road, United Kingdom; and even areas like times square in NY, USA.

The section between the streets Carlos Pellegrini Y Florida had a reduction of vehicle lanes, leveling of the transversal crossings and expansion of the sidewalks, to generate more pedestrian space.

In the area from callao until small hill a central flowerbed was created to divide the avenue in two parts: on the left, two lanes were adapted that become pedestrian area at night (of 19 to 2) of wednesday to sunday; and, on the right, two other lanes remain, which are exclusive for public transport (taxis and buses) 24 hours.
