Helen Mirren at the Berlinale: The icon once again enchants the capital

Helen Mirren convinced with an elegant appearance at the Berlinale. At the premiere of “Golda” she appeared in a noble robe.

The British Oscar winner Helen Mirren (77) once again gave the Berlinale real glitz and glamor. On Monday she appeared in the capital for the premiere of her new film “Golda” at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival on the red carpet. Mirren wore a floor-length, black, long-sleeved dress with a boat neckline. She wore her gray and gold hair loose, styled in loose waves that cascaded down her back. She combined black high heels and a strong, red lipstick with her elegant outfit.

In her new film, Mirren plays Israel’s first female prime minister, Golda Nattiv. About the role in the biopic by director Guy Nattiv (49), Mirren said at a press conference before the premiere: “It is a great challenge to portray her in the most difficult phase of her extraordinary life. I just hope that I do her justice.” In Israel and also in Palestine, the occupation of Mirren caused reactions, some of them massive. On the one hand, it was criticized that Mirren herself was not Jewish, on the other hand, she was insulted as a racist.

Helen Mirren has already received the Honorary Golden Bear

Helen Mirren already enchanted the capital three years ago with her presence at the Berlinale. At that time she received the Honorary Golden Bear for her life’s work and gave a remarkable speech. “My Oscar will fall in love with him!” Said Mirren at the presentation of the Berlinale trophy, among other things. This year her film “Golda” is shown in the “Berlinale Special Gala” category.
