US reality star and mother Paris Hilton has announced her son’s name. “His name is Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum,” the 42-year-old said on her podcast This is Paris.
The name came to her mind more than a decade ago, she explained. At that time she went through place names that could match her own name. “I really believe that names have power.”
“It’s such a beautiful name, it’s so unique,” enthused the hotel heiress. Phoenix not only stands for the capital of the US state of Arizona, but also – after the mythical bird that rises from its ashes – for “hope, rebirth and transformation”.
Middle name is reminiscent of Hilton’s grandfather
With his middle name, she named her son after her grandfather, Barron Hilton, who she always looked up to.
Hilton and her husband Carter Reum announced in January that they had become parents via surrogacy. With the child, her life feels so complete, Hilton enthuses: “I just love this baby so much.”
