Yoko Ono has turned his back on New York. After 50 years in the “Big Apple”, John Lennon’s widow has moved to the country permanently.

The building that reminded her every day of the most horrible day of her life.

John Lennon was killed in front of the Dakota Building

On December 8, 1980, John Lennon was shot dead outside the building by a deranged fan. He died in front of Yoko Ono’s eyes. A gray stone mosaic was set into the ground at the crime scene. It consists of the words “Imagine” – John’s biggest hit.

Yoko Ono lived in the exclusive apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side for more than 50 years. In 1973, the artist and Lennon had bought their first of allegedly five residential units in the traditional building. The couple’s only son, Sean Ono Lennon (47), who was born in 1975, also spent the early years of his life here. The 90-year-old is now said to live exclusively on her farm in upstate New York. Ono and Lennon bought it together in 1978.

Ono’s farm, near the village of Franklin, New York State, is 1,500 acres. However, as “Daily Mail” further reports, the artist is not planning to sell her apartment in Manhattan. The Beatles legend’s widow has largely withdrawn from the public eye in recent years.
