A few weeks ago Pietro Lombardi and Laura Maria Rypa had their son Leano. Now the new mother reports for the first time about the hard birth.
Parental happiness is still very fresh: Laura Maria Rypa (27) and Pietro Lombardi (30) had their first child together at the beginning of January. But little Leano’s way into life was hard, as his mother now reports.
In an Instagram story, Rypa commented on the difficult circumstances of the birth for the first time. In a question and answer session, she answered questions from her followers. The influencer went to the hospital six weeks earlier than predicted. With practice contractions, as she had first thought. But then her difficult hours lay ahead
pain at the limit
She spent almost eleven hours in the delivery room, she reports. The contractions kept getting stronger. “In the end, I couldn’t tell when I was in labor. Because I was in pain all the time,” she says.
When asked about the intensity of the pain, she does not hold back: “For me, it was a straight ten,” she admits when asked to classify the pain on a scale of 1 to 10. But that also has to do with the fact that she only took painkillers very late. “I really endured the pain for a very long time.”
“I want to do it like this”
She only decided to use the painkillers when the doctor gave her a clear message: If the little one wasn’t born soon, she would have to use a suction cup. “That’s when a switch flipped in my head,” she says. “I thought: No, not a suction cup. I want to do it like this.”
What came next, however, she had not expected. The doctor began to support the birth during labor with strong pressure on the abdomen. “It was really the worst pain,” Rypa recalls. “I really thought at that moment: I’m dying!”
But don’t let her story scare other mothers. “Everyone feels pain differently,” emphasizes the influencer. “Don’t take my word for it.” In the end, the sorrow quickly gave way to friends anyway. “When you hold the little one in your hands – you forget everything,” enthuses the young mother about her happiness. After two weeks of worrying in the intensive care unit, happiness was perfect anyway: the family was finally allowed to go home together.
