Arnold Schwarzenegger in YouTube video: “Hate was always the easy way”

Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has released a video on YouTube in which he denounces the increasing hatred and anti-Semitism that is spreading around the world.

In a video, Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger warns of the attraction that can emanate from discriminatory ideologies and racist conspiracy myths. In his own words, the actor addresses those who “may have already stumbled in the wrong direction, on the wrong path” in the clip, which lasts around twelve minutes. “I want to talk to you if you’ve caught yourself thinking that someone else is inferior to you or is targeting you because of their religion or their race or their gender,” Schwarzenegger said.

Arnold Schwarzenegger reports on his visit to Auschwitz

In the video, the 75-year-old described his impressions of a recent visit to the German death camp at Auschwitz and asked: “How can we prevent this from ever happening again?” He reminded that hate-based movements like the Nazi regime, the South African apartheid regime or the American Confederation always ended up losing. “Throughout history, hate has always been the easy path, the path of least resistance,” Schwarzenegger said. It was always easier to find a scapegoat for a problem than to improve things on your own. “But to be clear: you will never find success at the end of this path.”

Schwarzenegger was Governor of the State of California from 2003 to 2011. He will soon be seen in his first series lead role. He has taken on a role in the spy series “FUBAR”, which will start on the Netflix streaming service in May. Schwarzenegger and US actress Monica Barbaro embody a father and daughter who accidentally find out that they are both secretly working as CIA agents. Despite the lies and secrets, they end up having to work together.
