Heinz Baumann: TV commissioner died at the age of 95

Heinz Baumann is dead. The actor, who was particularly known for his many television roles, died at the age of 95.

With Heinz Baumann (1928-2023), one of the greats of German TV and crime entertainment entertainment has died. The actor fell asleep peacefully in Munich on March 4, as the artist agency Hahlweg confirmed on behalf of his daughter, the actress Judith Richter (44), and her brother, the news agency spot on news. Baumann only celebrated his 95th birthday in February. Among other things, he gained wider recognition through his role in the comedy “Das Spukschloß im Spessart” from 1960, in which Baumann appeared alongside Liselotte Pulver (93). Numerous film and series engagements followed in the decades that followed, including as chief inspector Sudmann in the crime series “SOKO 5113” (later “SOKO Munich”). Baumann also continued to investigate as a private detective in the TV offshoot “Solo für Sudmann”.

Baumann was also seen alongside Evelyn Hamann (1942-2007), who also died, in the successful crime series “Adelheid and Her Mörder”, which was produced between 1992 and 2006. In 2002 he was awarded the Bavarian Television Prize for his role as Chief Inspector Strobel. In addition, he had appearances in series and series such as “Derrick”, “Tatort”, “Der Alte”, “I am marrying a family” or on the “Traumschiff”.

In recent years, Baumann has become quieter. His last new appearances were on television in the early 2010s.
