The lawsuit states that she was lured out of the house with a short vacation in order to lock her out of the villa and remove her belongings. But that was precisely what was illegal. She relies on a verbal agreement between the couple, according to which she could have stayed in the villa for another five years. She accuses Woods of breaching his contract and reports “serious emotional damage”.
The dispute is also piquant because the woman signed an agreement years ago that obliges her to maintain confidentiality and to ensure that dirty laundry is not washed in public. Woods’ ex-girlfriend tries to avoid this non-disclosure agreement with her lawsuit. She’s not suing the athlete directly, but rather Wood’s trust company, which owns the mansion.
Non-Disclosure Agreement Invalid?
The woman states that she was forced to sign the non-disclosure agreement. She now refers to the so-called Speak Out Act, which would undermine the agreement if conflicts arose after signing due to sexual harassment or assault. According to media reports, Wood’s ex ticked the appropriate box on sexual abuse in the lawsuit. Further details on the allegation are not known.
Woods’ attorneys have not responded to media inquiries about the case. However, “People” reports that Woods is pushing for compliance with the non-disclosure agreement. This stipulates that the conflict must be resolved before an arbitral tribunal.
It’s not the first time Woods has made headlines. A few years ago it became public that the athlete suffers from a sex addiction and is said to have cheated on his ex-wife a hundred times. The divorce cost him $100 million.
