A series about Muhammad Ali produced by Regé-Jean Page and Morgan Freeman arrives

The series, titled “Excellence: 8 Fights,” is inspired by Jonathan Eig’s biography “Ali: A Life,” and will be scripted by Oscar winner Kevin Wilmott.

A biographical miniseries about the great heavyweight boxer Muhammad Alifor many the best boxer of all time, is developing hand in hand with Morgan Freeman and Regé-Jean Page as producers for the American streaming platform Peacock.

According to various specialized North American media, for the moment the role of both actors is limited to that of executive production. However, several of these same portals are already speculating that Page’s size, over 1.80 meters tall and his worked physique, make him an ideal candidate to embody Ali.

Muhammad Ali will have his series

The series, titled “Excellence: 8 Fights”is inspired by the biography “Ali: A Life” of Jonathan Eigwill have a script by the Oscar winner kevin wilmott (“The KKKlan Infiltrator”), who will also act as a producer together with the well-known Freeman and Page, a 34-year-old British-Zimbabwean actor who rose to planetary fame in 2020 with the lead role in the series “Bridgerton”.

Composed of eight chapters, the series will chronicle eight “distinctive and defining moments in the iconic life of Muhammad Ali”says the official description of the project.

“Each episode – he continues – will be framed in a fight of Ali’s life, but the essence of the episode, what it is really about, is the internal fight – the drama outside the ring – where we will explore the fight inside the heart and mind of one of the most consistent and controversial figures of the 20th century”.
