Kimmel made a joke about the infamous slap of Will Smith to Chris Rock, but kept his jokes relatively light. “Five Irish actors are nominated tonight, which means the chances of a fight are up,” Kimmel joked.
“We want them to have fun, we want them to feel safe, and most importantly, we want me to feel safe,” Kimmel told the audience. “So, we have strict policies in place. If anyone in this theater commits an act of violence at any time during the show, they will be awarded the Best Actor Oscar and allowed to give a 19-minute speech. But seriously, the academy has a crisis team. If something unpredictable or violent happens during the show, sit down and do absolutely nothing. Maybe even give the abuser a hug.”

“The two guys who insisted you go to the movies didn’t come to the movie party.”Kimmel joked during his monologue.
The music was not left out and so much Rihanna as Lady Gaga They were highlighted as the stars that will shine at the gala.
“This is a celebration of all those who are here. We will show the 23 categories live today. All the categories are back because the community wanted it that way,” he said and opened the gala with the first winners.
