The Last of Usthe series based on the popular PlayStation video game, became a resounding success in HBO and HBO Max. Since its premiere, it has broken all kinds of records for the channel and the streaming platform, now with the end of its first season, all that remains is to wait for what will come.
Episode nine premiered last night and had an ending that left a great dilemma for what was to come. In an interview with the Deadline portal, Neil Druckman he spoke of the series as “a complement to the video game”.
Season 2 being a confirmed reality for a couple of weeks, all that remains is to think about what awaits us in the second part of the series starring Peter Pascal and Bella Ramsey.
What is known about the second season of “The Last of Us”?
The series had great numbers from the first chapter, which aired on January 15.
To dimension this, episode 1 of “The Last of Us” surpassed the premieres of other highly popular series: Chapter 1 of “House of the Dragon” and episode 1 of season 2 of “euphoria”.
When the second episode arrived the following week, the series was already a complete success, to the point that one of its protagonists, Bella Ramsey, said that a second season was likely.
Ramsey made those comments on January 24. Just three days later, the announcement that everyone wanted to see arrived: HBO confirmed that there will be a second season of the series.
Although we still don’t know what it will be about, before the series premiered, its creators, craig mazin and Druckmann, said that if they were granted a second season, they plan to base it on the video game sequel, The Last of Us Part II. The new news is that they are planning “more than one season” to tell the much larger story of the video game sequel.
“The Last of Us: Part II” will return with several of the main characters, including Joel (played by Peter Pascal), Ellie (Bella Ramsey), Tommy (gabriel moon), Maria (wesley routine) plus some major new characters getting fully fleshed out storylines.
The first season of The Last of Us is available on HBO Max.
