From today until March 21, registration is open to participate in the ninth edition of the Writing Worlda free online competition that will be played from March 27 to April 7 in order to promote the habit of writing and publishing among peers, and that this time will have five thousand dollars in prizes for players and teams in the general category , which will be published by the Vinilo publishing house in 2024, and with legos and tablets for young people.
Created by Santiago Llac and organized by Luciana Cancer and Giuliana Migale Rocco, this online, free and global competition is open to people of all ages and nationalities; While registration must be done in https://mundialdeescritura.com/“where you can also consult the regulations and frequently asked questions,” the organizers reported.
“There will be two weeks of writing: one mandatory and one optional, the latter co-organized with the Chilean Plagio Foundation, responsible for Santiago in 100 words, a literary event that is also massive,” they explained in a statement.
As in all editions, players will receive a slogan, this time by people who work in different fields and countries, and players must write 3,000 characters a day from those triggers, 1,500 in the children’s category.
During the second week, the proposal is different and optional: Chilean writers and editors will propose writing exercises linked to the city, forms of transportation, and urban space.
Those who participate in this optional week must write texts of a maximum of 100 words each day about their city. The texts of Chilean residents and nationals will also compete in the XXII version of the Santiago 100 words contest.
For the first time, winners of each edition will not be defined; there will be two editions throughout the year, the second from August, and the 10 finalists of each one will compete in “a grand finale” in charge of “a high-level surprise jury”, who will define the winner of the individual prize of one thousand dollars.
While the team that adds the most points throughout the year will receive four thousand dollars to distribute among its members, from a score it will be determined by its effectiveness, the level of participation of the players in the weeks of optional writing and the points obtained by the finalist texts.
In turn, the 20 finalists will work throughout the year under the supervision of Santiago Llach to expand their texts and, through a selection process, five of them will advance to write a complete book.
Joanna D’Alessio and Mauro Libertella they will define which of them will be edited and published by Vinilo in 2024 and the winning book will be Pez Banana’s book of the month, which will distribute it among its partners.
