There will be another round next year, said juror Dieter Bohlen (69) in the first live show in 2023 in Cologne on Saturday evening. RTL had actually announced that it would discontinue the format. The broadcaster emphasized online that Bohlen’s announcement was not an April Fool’s joke.
Bohlen spoke of an “incredible spread” of “DSDS” not only on linear television and via streaming, but also on Instagram and Tiktok – that’s why you want to continue. According to him, there should no longer be an age limit in the planned 21st season: anyone over the age of 16 can apply. So far, only singers up to the age of 30 have been able to participate.
