Michael J. Fox on his exes: Can’t remember some dates

Michael J. Fox dated Bangles star Susanna Hoffs in the ’80s. But the actor can no longer remember that.

Michael J. Fox (61) was one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood in the 80s thanks to the “Back to the Future” trilogy. Today, however, he hardly remembers his love life back then. “When I look at this time in the [Dokumentation] it just seems crazy,” Fox told The Times on his new Apple TV+ documentary Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, which focuses on his life and battle with Parkinson’s disease “Look at all the girls I’ve dated. I can’t even remember some of them.”

Special encounter with Princess Diana

So he went out with Susanna Hoffs (64), guitarist and singer of the American band The Bangles. “And I don’t even remember it,” the actor continued. “But that’s just an example. This kind of thing happens again and again.” The two were briefly a couple in 1986 before the singer married “Austin Powers” director Jay Roach (65) in 1993. Fox, in turn, walked down the aisle in 1988 with his colleague Tracy Pollan (62).

Fox also recalled in the interview how he once met Princess Diana (1961-1997). “I sat next to Princess Diana at the world premiere of ‘Back to the Future’ and I had to pee and that’s all I remember,” Fox said. “I’d been told a whole list of things I could and couldn’t do – like not speaking unless spoken to and not standing unless she was standing. And so I was like, ‘What for do I have to do any kind of math to go to the bathroom?'” He couldn’t say, “‘I have to go to the bathroom!’ So I sat there in pain the whole time.”

Michael J. Fox: “It’s going to be tough”

Michael J. Fox also recently spoke about his illness. “I mean, I don’t want to lie. It’s getting hard… it’s getting harder. It’s getting harder every day,” said the 61-year-old, who was diagnosed at the age of 29. The moment was “scary” for him back then, he recalls on the show. His health has deteriorated rapidly in recent years. He doesn’t think he’ll live with the disease for long: “I won’t be 80,” Fox is sure, “I won’t be 80. […] You don’t die of Parkinson’s – you die with Parkinson’s.”
