“Grey’s Anatomy”: Shonda Rhimes reveals how long the series will last.

Shonda Rhimes is the successful producer behind “Grey’s Anatomy”. In an interview, she revealed how long the series should continue.

Shonda Rhimes is currently one of the most successful producers in the series world. She penned the romantic series “Bridgerton” about London’s high society in the 19th century.

As does “Inventing Anna,” about the impostor Anna “Delvey” Sorokin, who fooled New York’s high society. And of course “Grey’s Anatomy”, the doctor series that started Rhimes’ successful career in 2005.

And in an interview with the “E! News” site, Rhimes spoke precisely about the future of this successful format. She revealed how much she cares about the series and the fans: “I could be a very old lady by the time we get to the final season.

“Grey’s Anatomy”: How long should the series last?

Because it doesn’t seem to stop, which is wonderful. I have the feeling that this world really belongs to the fans, and the fans have made it very clear what they want,” quotes the industry magazine “Deadline” from it. The 19th season can currently be seen in Germany.

But it should go even further in the future. As the “Hollywood Reporter” only reported at the end of March, a 20th season is also to be created. The reasons: The ratings are still good, the viewers like to watch the format, and for some it even has cult status. And although – or maybe because – the series has changed again and again in the 18 years since it was first broadcast.

Nevertheless, Rhimes may not have an easy task ahead of him for the next season: Ellen Pompeo, who played the main character Meredith Grey, is leaving the series. And so a crucial character has to be cast again. The fact that the fans also take the new cast to their hearts should be an important goal.

But Rhimes told E!News positively: “It’s such an amazing show and it’s going so well as it evolves. I’ll just see where it goes. And we’ll keep doing the show for as long as it takes , how everyone and especially the fans want to be there.”
