Charlotte Würdig: That’s why she almost exclusively hires mothers

Charlotte Würdig reveals the secret of her company’s success: mothers with strong nerves who do their jobs with confidence.

After the birth of her first son with rapper Sido (42) in 2013, actress and presenter Charlotte Würdig (44) decided to give her fellow women something to help them keep in perfect shape in the stressful hustle and bustle of everyday life. Within a very short time, she managed to make her fitness platform “Upgrade U by Charlotte Würdig”, launched in 2015, one of the most successful fitness platforms on the German market.

In one, she now explained why things are going so well with her company. The secret of her success is that as a boss, she prefers to sign mothers.

“Mothers are super disciplined”

“I don’t want to discriminate against men,” she emphasized, “but I really prefer to hire mothers. They are multitasking, effective, have a perfect grip on time management and are super disciplined.” She can always rely on her ten colleagues. “I don’t care how much vacation they take or when they work. The main thing is that the deadlines are met.”

In a way, your company is a large family business, in which, according to your statements, a total of 23 children are involved. Experience has shown that mothers are particularly on the ball when it comes to professional matters: “There are no unnecessary discussions, no chasing, begging and pushing. Everyone does their own thing, nobody has time to lose and everyone just wants to do their job, have fun and manage their family at the same time can.”

Full trust in power moms

As the boss, she has complete trust in her employed mothers and can let things go. “We don’t have a fixed number of hours per day that have to be worked,” she explained. “Anyone who takes a three-day break because there is less land at home will make up for it later. All of my mums came back earlier from parental leave voluntarily because they wanted to finally go back to work!”

“Women are made to feel guilty”

She finds it scandalous that many HR managers are suspicious of women with children. “Women tell me that in other companies they were afraid of being asked about children during job interviews,” she reported. “How sick is that? Somebody’s gotta have the kids, and just giving birth and raising a living being deserves a price. But instead, women are made to feel guilty and almost apologize for that you have two little mice at home who might get sick from time to time.”
