There are many celebrity podcasts, now one is added: entertainer Joko Winterscheidt comments on everyday events. But this time not with his TV partner Klaas Heufer-Umlauf.
The entertainer Joko Winterscheidt (44) and the author Sophie Passmann (29) start their joint podcast “Sunset Club” on Thursday. The two announced on Monday. “Apparently there are already a lot of podcasts, but there is still no podcast club that you can join,” said Winterscheidt of the German Press Agency. A new episode will be released every week on all major platforms.
Regarding the combination, which initially sounded a bit unusual, Passmann explained: “On the one hand, it makes total sense because I work and write in Joko’s orbit. At the same time, it’s a combination that certainly irritates many people. I think that’s the perfect constellation, to entertain.”
In “Sunset Club” the moderation duo wants to talk about the media world, everyday observations and career advice. Prominent guests have not yet agreed, said Winterscheidt. “But I think once the podcast is up, they all want to become a member. After all, there are people who pay thousands of euros for some membership club in Berlin that nobody wants to go in.”
The 44-year-old Winterscheidt is best known for programs with Klaas Heufer-Umlauf (39), who has his own podcast with “Baywatch Berlin”.
Passmann works as a writer for TV shows and magazines. She has also published books such as “Old White Men: An Attempt at Mediation” (2019) or “Complete Goosebumps” (2021).
