The Chelsea Flower Show is one of the most famous garden shows in the world. Members of the Royal Family also regularly take part.
At the start of the Chelsea Flower Show, Princess Kate (41) visited children picnicking on the grounds of the London Garden Show. As the palace announced, school children were invited to a picnic on the site for the first time before the garden show opens on Tuesday. King Charles (74) and Queen Camilla (75) have also visited.
Kate, who holds the title of Princess of Wales, has long campaigned for children to be exposed to nature and gardening from an early age. King Charles is considered a nature lover anyway. Kate appeared in the long-sleeved pink dress.
The Chelsea Flower Show has been organized by the Royal Horticultural Society since 1913. It is part of the standard visiting program for the British royal family. This year, 34,000 different plants can be seen in 12 show gardens.
