Sex without an orgasm? For many women this is part of the bitter reality and yet they sleep with their partner again and again. One study looked at the reasons for this behavior.
Of course, intercourse can also have beautiful moments without a climax. Intimacy, togetherness and touch are just as important for human well-being as satisfying sexual needs. On this point, however, there are still significant differences between the sexes.
According to various studies, around 65 percent of all women have problems having an orgasm during sex. And yet they sleep with their partners until it reaches its climax. “The sex is over when the man comes” – a sentence that came from a survey on the subject of “sexual freedom”. The founder Nina Julie Lepique explores the question of how women feel desire and tries to do away with clichés.
Within this survey, 236 women in Germany and 1527 community members were asked to answer 50 questions about love, sex and dating. One result of the study was particularly close to Lepique: “Reading these results really hurt”: More than half (54 percent) of the women surveyed have sex with their partner even though they don’t feel like it. A kind of fulfillment of duty, because the streaming platform also asked for the reasons for this behavior.
Sex without desire – women don’t want to hurt it
The most common reason for having sex without wanting to is the man’s ego. Women don’t want to hurt or disappoint their partner. For this reason it also happens, so that it is over faster. “Man knows the image of the woman who doesn’t feel like it but gives in at the request of her partner. However, having this number in mind makes it clear to me how many women this is the reality for,” says the femtasy founder.
But faking can create a vicious circle. If, in the past, she usually faked an orgasm after ten minutes, but later found that she was capable of a vaginal climax, but that this took longer than ten minutes, this is difficult to convey to her partner. Better be honest right now and don’t even start acting until you’re caught in a spiral of listlessness without a climax.
