The start of Ron DeSantis’ presidential candidacy is overshadowed by technical glitches. But the governor of Florida’s biggest problem is something else: he lacks a remedy against his competitor Donald Trump.
Ron DeSantis hasn’t said a word when he loses hundreds of thousands of listeners. Shortly after 6 p.m. US local time on Wednesday, midnight in Germany, company boss Elon Musk welcomes him to a “Twitter Space” with the governor of Florida, but the system quickly becomes overloaded. Again and again the sound breaks off – silence for minutes.
Musk has to reschedule, and so the conversation restarts on a co-host’s account. But of the approximately 700,000 people who listened on the first attempt, fewer than half found their way back.
