68th Song Contest: ABBA rejects speculation about a reunion
The Swedish cult band ABBA.

A joint appearance by the four singers is “out of the question,” said co-founder Benny Andersson in an interview with the BBC program “Newsnight”. “I don’t want that. And if I don’t want it, neither do the others. It’s the same for all four of us. If someone says no, that’s a no,” he said.

ABBA singer Björn Ulvaeus, who was also present at the interview, added: “We can celebrate 50 years of ABBA without being on stage.” At this year’s ESC in Liverpool, Swede Loreen won with her song “Tattoo”. This means that Sweden is hosting the ESC for the seventh time next year – 50 years after Sweden first won the European music competition thanks to ABBA and their hit “Waterloo”.
