The Netflix film “You Don’t Know Me” wants to uncover the secret of model Anna Nicole Smith, who died in 2007. And fails because there is none. But that’s what makes the film worth seeing.
Let’s start with a German anecdote: In 1993, the then 29-year-old TV presenter Johannes B. Kerner spent a night in prison because of Anna Nicole Smith. At least that’s how Kerner once said it. His offense was probably a bit drunk and bachelor party. With a friend, he had dismantled a very large poster advertising Smith’s “H&M” underwear and tried to transport the bulky loot in a public bus. The bus driver didn’t like that and called the police. So Kerner ended up in custody for one night. An experience, he said later, that “he doesn’t want to do again”.
