Where’s the best place for Britain’s newly crowned monarch to recover from the strains of recent public and private celebrations? Not, as might have been expected, in the garden of his country estate at Highgrove or at his Scottish holiday home at Birkhall near Balmoral. And certainly not in a high-priced Ayurveda resort in India (where his wife Camilla, who is also newly crowned, is now more often drawn to). Rather, Charles III. now at the beginning of June as surprising as it is rustic in Transylvania peace and relaxation, in his personal Romanian retreat in the Zalán Valley in Transylvania.
