Gerald and Anna Heiser: Arsonist in Namibia is caught

The all-clear on the farm of the “Bauer sucht Frau” couple Gerald and Anna Heiser: the arsonist has been caught after fleeing for days.

On May 25, a man set fire to Gerald and Anna Heiser’s (32) farm in Namibia. Since then he has been on the run. Now he could be caught, gave the mother of two in a story.

Anna Heiser feels sorry for the perpetrator

The “Bauer sucht Frau” couple Gerald and Anna Heiser (32) had been kept in suspense in the past few days. First they had to see that the fire on their farm was quickly extinguished. Then they worried because the arsonist was on the run and no one knew what he was going to do next. The man set fire to “at least four different farms,” reported Heiser. At the time of the crime, she was alone at home with her two small children. A day-long search for the fugitive culprit began, in which Gerald Heiser also took part. Then, on May 29, came his redeeming phone call. “They caught him,” announced Anna Heiser on Instagram. Now they could sleep peacefully again.

But the subject was still very much on her mind the next morning. The 32-year-old revealed to her followers that she felt sympathy for the arsonist: “I have to admit that I’m really sorry for this person because he clearly has mental problems.” He ran almost 40 kilometers for hours. “Without shoes, without drinking.” He also claims that he is 16 years old, although he is much older. And he doesn’t know why he started the fire either. “He would have to go to a psychiatric clinic, but that doesn’t really exist in Namibia.”

The family wants to take a deep breath now

“We are so happy that the drama is over,” says Anna Heiser. “Now we can breathe again.” The arson isn’t the only drama in May: Earlier this month, the family of four was involved in a serious car accident that left everyone unharmed.

The couple met in 2017 through the RTL program “Bauer sucht Frau” and married a year later. Their son Leon was born at the end of January 2021, daughter Alina at the end of November 2022.
