Danny Masterson has been found guilty of double rape. The US actor now faces at least 30 years in prison.
US actor Danny Masterson (47) has been found guilty of double rape. A court in Los Angeles handed down the verdict against the former “That ’70s Show” actor on Wednesday after several days of deliberation.
Twelve jurors found Masterson guilty of raping two women at his Hollywood Hills home in 2003. According to the report, the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict in a third rape, which is said to have occurred in November 2001. Masterson now faces a minimum of 30 years in prison, but possibly life imprisonment, sources say. The full sentence is expected to be announced in early August.
First trial in 2022 without judgment
The first trial in the Masterson case ended in November 2022 without a verdict. The charges were then reopened. The actor has vehemently denied the allegations, claiming the sexual acts were consensual.
At the time, however, the three women had reported in detail about the rapes. Accordingly, all three of them stayed in his house at different times and separately from each other. Two of them were given a drink by Masterson that made them faint. Then he is said to have passed them.
The third woman is said to have been in a relationship with the actor for several years. Masterson is said to have performed sexual acts on her while she was sleeping. In 2017, allegations of rape against the US star were made for the first time. 2020 has officially been charged.
