female cycle is an event that encourages the production and staging of plays with teams made up of women and femininities in central roles such as direction and dramaturgy.
The second edition will be held on Saturday, June 17 and 24 at 9:00 p.m. at the Tole Tole Theater, Pasteur 683, in CABA. In this edition, two projects were selected by open call, of free-themed works and an extension of no more than 40 minutes.
The cycle was born after observing the inequality in the spaces that women occupy in these roles and also as a need in the post-pandemic to self-manage these meetings. For this reason, they propose for the selected works an economic incentive and accompaniment through tutorials in dramaturgy, direction and production.
In this edition INCUBATOR Two projects were selected by open call, of free-themed works and an extension of no more than 40 minutes. Richard’s work Belen Canas and the work Urana of Lucila Quarleri They are the ones that make up the programming of this edition.
On the other hand, the cycle will offer an open and free keynote talk with the director and playwright maruja bustamante titled “Structure Notes”, on June 7 at 7:00 p.m., with prior registration (info on the IG of the cycle).
In the first edition of female cycle directors, playwrights, actresses, stage designers, costume designers, sound designers, lighting designers, designers, illustrators, producers, make-up artists, editors came together to create and bring pieces made by women to the portena theater scene. “We become doers in earned spaces. We are gaining strength. We become half animals. We become female”they invited in June 2022, when they launched the edition MONOLOGICAL.
“In this first edition we will address the monologue genre, and we, the creators of the cycle, will be in charge of inaugurating it with materials of our authorship,” they said.
