The number of corona infections has recently been extremely different in many European countries. An overview.
In politics as well as in science, the seven-day incidence is still considered to be a decisive value for assessing the pandemic. The weighing of corona protective measures, for example the use of the so-called emergency brake, is linked to certain incidence thresholds in Germany, the infection rate in another country is also decisive for a country to be classified as a risk area, such as Spain and most recently Cyprus – which in turn entails certain rules for quarantine and entry.
The map below shows how different the incidences have recently been in different countries.

In view of the increasing vaccination rates, however, there is discussion about how much informative value the infection numbers alone still have, since experience so far shows that immunizations provide effective protection against a severe disease process even in the event of an infection, i.e. an infection in this case is no longer as dangerous as it was before one Year. The Robert Koch Institute is therefore considering, for example, introducing hospitalizations, i.e. hospital admissions, as an additional key indicator.

And what do you have to know for your vacation in times of Corona? Are the holidays in danger? When do I have to be in quarantine in the destination country or after returning? What are the entry requirements?
