Unknown people stole the pink bench next to the grave of comedian Dirk Bach in Cologne’s Melaten cemetery. A spokesman for the Cologne Aids organization said on Friday that no further information was available. The “Bild” newspaper had reported.
The cemetery administration announced this month that it wanted to remove the bench along with other “wild benches” in the listed cemetery. However, this should not happen until September 8th. A spokeswoman for the city made it clear on Friday that the cemetery administration had nothing to do with the disappearance of the bank.
Bach died in 2012 at the age of 51. His imaginatively designed grave, complete with the Comedy Award incorporated into it, is one of the biggest attractions in the more than 200-year-old cemetery.
