The man who took the stage at a New York City panel has now been arrested.
The alleged stalker drew Barrymore, Chad Michael Bust43, was charged with stalking in the fourth degree, a class “B” misdemeanor, by police in the city of Southampton, New York last night, according to the Deadline portal.

In arrest details released overnight, city police in the East End of Long Island, New York, say Busto, the Washington, DC man who took the stage while Barrymore was being interviewed on a panel Monday for night in Manhattan, had been briefly detained Wednesday in the Southampton hamlet of Sagaponack after police received a report of a suspicious person “riding a bicycle on private roads and stating to area residents that he was seeking the residence of Drew Barrymore”.


Busto was released after Wednesday’s brief detention but, according to the police statement, “Patrol officers notified the detective division and a follow-up investigation was carried out by Southampton City Police detectives. Their investigation led to facts that substantiated a harassment charge and a search flyer was distributed to neighboring agencies.”
On Thursday afternoon, police from the neighboring city of East Hampton located the suspect, “arrested him and subsequently turned him over to City of Southampton Police detectives for arrest processing.”
Busto has been in custody overnight and is expected to appear in Southampton City Justice Court for his arraignment this morning.
