She has been a star in her homeland of Israel for many years, and now she is bringing glamor to the Bundesliga: singer Noa Kirel is the girlfriend of the new FC Bayern goalkeeper Daniel Peretz.
All ESC fans should still have good memories of her appearance: At this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, the Israeli singer Noa Kirel delivered a brilliant performance. In a tight leather two-piece suit, the 22-year-old swept across the stage, rolled over the smooth floor and ended up doing a somersault.
This appearance almost didn’t exist: Kirel was nominated as an ESC candidate by the Israeli broadcaster KAN without consultation. 78 artists were in the running – in the end, the choice fell on Kirel. Only after a month’s consideration did she agree to represent her country at the ESC. With her hit “Unicorn”, Kirel finished third in the final – one of the best placings in Israel’s 50-year history of the ESC.
Noa Kirel loves new FC Bayern goalkeeper Daniel Peretz
Now Kirel could cause a stir in the Bundesliga. The singer is the girlfriend of the Israeli national goalkeeper Daniel Peretz, who has just been signed by FC Bayern Munich as the new keeper. At Peretz’ farewell game for his previous club Maccabi Tel Avivi, Kirel sat in the stands. It remains to be seen whether she will also take a seat in the Allianz Arena. In any case, Kirel accompanied Peretz to Munich at the start. On her Instagram account, she published a photo of a coffee cup taken at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski, as revealed by the sugar sachets on the plate.
In her home country of Israel, Noa Kirel is a star – and not just since her successful participation in the ESC. She was born Noya Kirel on April 10, 2001 in Ra’anana, a suburb of Tel Aviv. She has two older brothers, her mother runs a fashion shop and her father is the CEO of a glass manufacturer. When Kirel was three months old, she was diagnosed with kidney disease. Kirel was given medication and her parents consulted a rabbi. He recommended changing her first name to Noa – based on the Hebrew word for movement – and predicted her career as a dancer, her father recalls.
In fact, Kirel released her first single “Medabrim” at the age of 14, followed by her second song “Killer”. The music video for it caused a scandal in Israel: many found Kirel’s dance routines too lascivious given their age. “How could her parents allow her to be filmed like this?” wrote the Haaretz newspaper, for example.
It has not harmed their popularity – on the contrary. As a 16-year-old she was a member of the jury in the Israeli edition of “Das Supertalent”, a year later she received her own TV show and was awarded “Best Israeli Act” four times in a row at the MTV Europe Music Awards. She also works as a model, actress and presenter.
If she still finds time to drop by the football stadium from time to time in addition to all the tasks, her partner Daniel Peretz should not only be happy.
