Men with sideburns and mustaches preferred: The legendary Cologne concert by jazz pianist Keith Jarrett from 1975 is to be filmed. Around 500 extras are needed for this.
For a cinema film about a legendary jazz concert in Cologne in the 1970s, around 500 extras and small actors of all nations and ages are needed. Sideburns and mustaches are particularly popular with men, and hair that is at least chin-length with women. Shaved necks and sides, obviously dyed hair, tattoos and piercings on visible parts of the body, sunbed tan and extremely bleached teeth are considered no-gos.
As the agency Eick & Weber (“Die Tribute von Panem”) announced, the film “The Girl from Cologne” tells the true story of Vera Brandes, who, at the age of 17, invited the internationally renowned jazz musician Keith Jarrett to a legendary concert in 1975 brought to Cologne. Brandes is embodied in the film by Mala Emde (“Charité”), other leading roles are played by Ulrich Tukur (“Tatort”), John Magaro (“Jack Ryan”) and Jördis Triebel (“Babylon Berlin”). Filming will take place from the beginning of October to mid-November in the Cologne area.
Interested parties can enter their data in a free online casting at https://musik.casting-eick.de and upload three current photos (portrait, profile and full body). Application deadline is November 10th. “We fill various scenes with concert-goers, schoolchildren, students, café guests and passers-by,” said agency co-owner Gregor Weber. “If possible, everyone who is interested in our film should let their hair and beard grow completely.”
