“Ferrari” is set in 1957, before the infamous Mille Miglia race during which De Portago’s Ferrari blew a tire and he and nine spectators were killed in an accident. Ferrari itself and the tire manufacturer were charged with manslaughter, but the case was later dismissed.
Most of the movie was shot in Brescia, Italy, where the real Mille Miglia race took place.
Neon is releasing the film, which will premiere at the 80th Venice International Film Festival in September. It hits theaters on December 24.
