Nick Cartersinger of the Backstreet Boyswas denounced again for an alleged sexual abuse that occurred in 2003. The victim is a woman who claimed to have been sexually assaulted on several occasions when she was 15 years old and the leader of the gang, 23. The Clark County District Court has been investigating the case since Monday.
The complainant, of whom only the initials AR are known, accused the singer of getting her drunk before abusing her on a yacht and on a bus. Also, she claimed that Carter forced her to keep his sexual assault a secret from her and did not rule out the possibility that she transmitted the human papillomavirus to him.
For his part, the band member denied all the facts and his lawyer, Dales Hayes Jr.maintained that the events occurred 20 years ago and even the authorities at that time had stopped investigating the case since there was not enough evidence to incriminate his client. “He is repeating the same false accusations in a new legal complaint,” she stated.
Previous complaints against Nick Carter for sexual abuse
It is not the first time that Carter has received a complaint for sexual abuse, since the singer Melissa Schumann told in 2017 that, when she was 18 years old and he was 22, was sexually assaulted on a recording set by the vocalist. “She threw me on the bed and climbed on top of me. Five years later, a fan of the band denounced him for an event that occurred on the 2001 tour. Shannon Ruth declared that Nick Carter had invited her to get on the bus in which the musical group was traveling and she was forced to drink alcohol. After her, he took her to her bed, where he allegedly abused her. “After raping me, I remember that she called me a ‘retarded bitch’ and that she grabbed me leaving bruises on my arm,” she had said at a press conference with her lawyer.
“Although I am autistic and live with cerebral palsy, I believe that Nothing has affected me more in my life than what Nick Carter did to me.”, he finished. In both cases, the singer denied the facts.
