Anna Netrebko (51) – to be experienced on Wednesday in the Vienna Konzerthaus in a concert “Traviata” – is complaining to the New York Metropolitan Opera (Met) in connection with performances canceled in 2022: In a complaint published in the US court register, she accuses the Met Discrimination because of her origin and gender and distances herself from Vladimir Putin. The Russian-Austrian dual citizen accuses the management of the Met of using the termination of a 20-year contractual relationship with a “Russian diva” and “ruling prima donna” for an anti-Russian advertising campaign and to position herself as a supporter of Ukraine. In connection with their contracts, they are demanding compensation of $360,000 (332,000 euros).
