After all, where Helene Fischer is on it, there is high hit art in it – and in every respect.Vienna. For the concert series for the latest album “Rausch” (2021), which has been running since spring, the 39-year-old artist has conceived a show together with Cirque du Soleil that really has it all: in just over three hours, not only more than 30 songs given to the best, but also eagerly served water, fire and air. Above all, the acrobatic interludes on the trapeze or ladders amaze with their consistently choreographed integration into this music show, which sometimes feels more like a musical or Disney film.

But one after the other: After an intro testing the stage lights, Fischer went from “zero to 100” with her band of nine and a total of almost two dozen dancers and acrobats. A mischievous “Are you ready?” addressed to the audience. had to be answered with “maybe” at this point in time, as many visitors seemed a little overwhelmed by the directness of this prelude.

However, many took the call to let go of their idol to heart, which is why the mood went up significantly at the latest with “Herzbeben”. What followed in the first half of the concert was a cleverly set alternation of big pop numbers with an acrobatic list (“Wounds”), danceable pieces with the same choreography (“Errorless”) and ballad-like tones. In “Full Power Ahead” Fischer slipped into a red dress that took up the entire stage, while “Vamos a marte” invited people to the large disco at the end.

Star to touch

Of course, the singer also staged herself as a star to touch: Two happy fans were brought onto the stage for selfies, with the previous exchange not only making the audience laugh. “You’re in peace and quiet here in Vienna, right?” Fischer smiled after one hastily asked question followed the next and the music briefly faded into the background. After that, however, outfits were eagerly changed again, fire rings were lit or artistic water patterns were lowered from the hall ceiling.

With all these different elements, which included a second stage in the middle of the hall towards the finale, on which the hit icon performed a medley from her early hits, it was ultimately up to Fischer himself to present the connecting thread. No matter whether high in the air or very close to their fans, the perfect smile was always there, the next dance step was right and even heavier breathing after a flight could only be heard in exceptional cases. Add one more? With Helene Fischer, it’s not a question of whether, just when.

“Roller coaster” or “Breathless through the night” for the finale

Accordingly, it went into the final with hits like “Achterbahn” or “Breathless through the night”. Fischer intoned this song, which brought her big breakthrough ten years ago, while she was fixed to a movable robotic arm – sometimes turned upside down, then whirled through the air again. The fact that something can go wrong with such actions, as a number of incidents made clear this year, is ultimately not surprising in terms of intensity. For example, the tour started late due to a broken rib and there was an injury right before the summer break after the singer was hit by a trapeze bar.

But don’t worry: “I’m fine!” Helene Fischer let her fans know against this background to be on the safe side. And when she claims to have “rarely challenged herself so much” as for this show, then after the astonishingly entertaining three hours one could only agree. In local areas there is hardly anyone in the broadly diversified pop sector who can keep up with Helene Fischer’s Schlager, pop and acrobatics revue. You can get over one or the other pathetic moment – the main thing is that everyone is happy.
