After days of speculation, Joe Jonas is now creating facts: the singer, who became famous with his brothers as the Jonas Brothers, has filed for divorce from his wife Sophie Turner. The two are said to have been separated from each other for months.
The marriage was “irretrievably broken,” according to the court documents filed on Tuesday, which are available “Today”. According to the documents, the two children currently live with their father, but he sees joint custody as “in their best interest”. Turner (27) has not yet commented on the separation.

“They have been living separate lives for months,” a source close to the couple told People. The separation was therefore no surprise. While Turner worked in England, Jonas (34) toured with his brothers. According to Turner and Jonas, they first met in 2016 via a chat on Instagram and then quickly became a couple. They announced their engagement in 2017 and then married in May 2019. Their first daughter Willa was born in 2020, followed last year by the second daughter, whose name is not publicly known.

The famous couple made a conscious decision not to make some details of their marriage public, Jonas reported in an interview in the fall. “I always wanted to be an open book,” explained the singer, who had already become a star with his brothers in his youth. “But once I started dating, I realized that I didn’t have a lot of personal life. And in the end, keeping things to myself made me a better person.”
Both had recently posted posts on social media that seemed to speak against a separation. Jonas posted a picture on Instagram on Monday in which he was clearly holding his wedding ring near his face. Turner last posted pictures on the network in mid-August, celebrating her husband’s concert.
