After the well-known actor Danny Masterson (“The Wild Seventies”, 47) was found guilty of double rape a few months ago, the sentence has now been determined. The 47-year-old was sentenced to a prison sentence of 30 years to life, among other things.
One of his victims calls the actor “a heartless monster”
A twelve-member jury found it proven at the end of May this year that Masterson raped two women in his home in the Hollywood Hills in 2003. The jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict regarding a third rape, which is said to have occurred in November 2001.
It was the second case against the actor, who is also known for the Netflix sitcom “The Ranch”. The first trial in the Masterson case ended in November 2022 without a verdict. The charges were then reopened.
Masterson, who has been in custody since the verdict in May, did not comment when the sentence was announced. One of his victims called the actor “a true coward and a heartless monster.” The US star’s family was present in the courtroom. His wife Bijou Phillips (43) was present, as were his acting siblings Alanna Masterson (“The Walking Dead”, 35) and Chris Masterson (“Malcolm in the Middle”, 43).
First allegations in 2017
Rape allegations were first made against Masterson in 2017. Netflix fired the actor following the series “The Ranch,” in which he appeared with his former “The Roaring Seventies” colleague Ashton Kutcher (45). In 2020, charges were officially brought for the first time.
The three women gave detailed accounts of the rapes in Masterson’s second trial. Accordingly, all three of them were in his house at different times and separately from each other. Two of them were given a drink by Masterson that caused them to faint. He is then said to have assaulted them.
The third woman is said to have been in a relationship with the actor for several years. Masterson is said to have performed sexual acts on her while she was sleeping. During the same period, Masterson celebrated success as an actor and star of the sitcom “The Roaring Seventies”.
