Linz invites you again to the Genusslandstrasse

“Taste Gemma delicacies” is the motto again this Friday and Saturday, when the OÖN and Genussland invite you to Upper Austria’s “largest promenade for connoisseurs”. From the Taubenmarkt to Martin-Luther-Platz, specialties from all Upper Austrian regions are offered. Below is a little guide:

ł Food court at Taubenmarkt Around the pigeon market there is fresh cooking, baking, mixing and tapping. From duck leg with cole slaw, organic mortadella sandwiches to bacon sandwiches, there is something for every taste. Freistadt beer is on tap and the Parzmair distillery serves gin and tonic from its own VW Bully.

À The country road becomes a unique leisure promenade at the weekend. You can sample new, innovative products such as truffle salami or Alpine caviar as well as classic delicacies such as Innviertler dumplings or sweet delicacies such as foam rolls or farmer’s doughnuts.

à Martin-Luther-Platz is traditionally the home of the Bäckerstrasse, where you can find all sorts of bread specialties – straight from the wood-fired oven. Also on offer: Steckerlfisch from the Salzkammergut, wonderful must and game and wine from Upper Austria

Õ Mühlviertler enjoyment on the cathedral square: The Mühlviertler Hochland Tourism Association presents the culinary, tourist and cultural specialties of the region on Cathedral Square. On Friday there’s a twilight drink from 7.30 p.m., on Saturday there’s “Dance at the Cathedral Square” until the evening hours. In addition to organic herb and bread specialties, grilled specialties, Mühlviertel burgers, street food and homemade semolina pancakes are served.

Music and children’s program: The seminar farmers give the little visitors a “craze for fruit and vegetables” and “Most Unlimited”, together with Mühlviertler bands and brass bands, bring momentum to the gourmet festival.
