But then in the third season even if the series is popular they reboot the brand so that doesn’t happen.”
What is meant by the percentage is the minimum daily or weekly rate that a union member can earn. So Disney could use this loophole to change the titles of its series and avoid paying more to the cast.
“It’s in our contracts that we can’t renegotiate unless everyone decides to renegotiate. So yeah, there’s a bunch of very smart little lawyers there.”
Liv and Maddie premiered in 2013 and ran for three seasons with an average of 2.3 million viewers before returning with a fourth titled Liv and Maddie: Cali Style and thus avoid paying higher salaries.
