Russell Brand: His wife is pregnant
Gallacher comes from a privileged and prominent family. Her father Bernard is a Scottish golf legend himself and was once the youngest British golfer to compete in the Ryder Cup. Brand’s sister-in-law, Laura’s sister Kirsty, is a TV presenter and has worked for Sky as a sports presenter and model, among other things. It was she who introduced Brand and his now wife to each other. Brand was working for a British radio station at the time and met 18-year-old art student Laura.
The two were together for some time – a liaison that Bernard Gallacher didn’t like. He was bothered by the large age difference between the two; Brand is twelve years older than his current wife. According to the Daily Mail, the former golf pro “begged” his daughter not to get involved with Brand. “Bernard is a very straightforward guy,” a source told the British newspaper.
After the two separated, the comedian pursued his Hollywood career. He probably became known to a wide audience at the time through a few film roles and his short marriage to Katy Perry. Over the years, Brand and Gallacher met again and again. They had an on-off relationship. The couple’s first daughter was born in November 2016, and the two married a year later, before their second daughter followed in July 2018.
It is not known how Brand’s family-in-law feels about him after the allegations. Kirsty Gallacher shared Brand’s video denying the allegations on her Instagram story, but deleted it a short time later.
