Jamie Lee Curtis: Stars share their compassion for Israel

Following the attacks on Israel, celebrities including Jamie Lee Curtis, Gal Gadot and Amy Schumer shared their condolences on social media.

US star Jamie Lee Curtis (64), Israeli actress Gal Gadot (38), US actress Amy Schumer (42) and Israeli-American artist manager Guy Oseary (51) were among the first celebrities to arrive on the land and Hamas airstrikes on Israel early Saturday morning responded.

Gal Gadot: “My heart hurts”

Gal Gadot, who has advocated for Israel in the past, said Israeli soldiers and civilians had been taken hostage by militants. In the caption, she wrote that “at least 250 Israelis have been murdered and dozens of women, children and the elderly held hostage in the Gaza Strip by the Palestinian military group Hamas.”

She continued: “More than 3,000 rockets have been fired since early morning. Hamas is holding hostages and controlling bases and settlements in Israel. There have been more than 1,500 injured and heavy fighting is still ongoing. I hear their voices and they are pounding at the door. I’m with my two little children. My heart hurts.”

In his own lengthy post about Israel, longtime executive Guy Oseary wrote that Hamas urges anyone with a weapon to get it out and use it because “the best and most honorable history begins today.” He shared a video of a young woman named Noa who was at a music festival when she was shot and kidnapped.

“This is horrific… these murders are being celebrated by the government/regime in Iran,” he wrote in the caption. “Many women, children and elderly people are taken from their homes and kidnapped. I have always prayed for peace. ALWAYS. I have always stood up for my Jewish community, and I have also stood up for my Arab brothers and sisters. Today I have no words. Only heartbreak. Only tears.”

Jamie Lee Curtis and Amy Schumer and added their own words. “My hands in yours,” Curtis wrote. with the heading “Terror Heaven”.

Schumer wrote under Oseary’s caption: “Jewish people are the only group not allowed to defend themselves. This has nothing to do with the occupation. Hamas doesn’t want an end to the occupation. They want to wipe out Israel. They are funded by Iran, which is trying to destroy the peace agreement.”
