At the age of 61, the renowned musician died Ricardo Iorio. As confirmed by his lawyer Juan Vitalinithe emblematic figure of national heavy metal died due to a heart attack, on the way to the Coronel Suárez Hospital.

Iorio began his musical career as a bassist for V8a group he founded with Ricardo “Chofa” Moreno. After releasing three albums and some member changes, they broke up in 1987. In 1988 they formed Hermetic, where in addition to being the bassist, he became the main musical composer and exclusive composer of the lyrics, in addition to singing occasionally. After the band’s rise in 1994, it split up. In early 1995 he formed Strong soul, where he established himself as a singer and bassist. He would abandon the bass in 2002 and in 2016 he announced the dissolution of the band.

Ricardo Iorio’s relationship with other musicians

Ricardo Iorio worked with several Argentine music artists, in addition to the various musicians who were part of his bands.

He collaborated with Leon Gieco (he had lent his voice to the song “Río Paraná” in Peso Argento) in the song “Bandidos rurales” from the album of the same name and “El Embudo” from the album Orozco along with other artists.

Iorio recorded his first album as a soloist, independently of his career with Almafuerte, Peso Argento alongside Flavio Cianciaruloof The Fabulous Cadillacs. Cianciarulo also produced Almafuerte’s second album, and there were plans to record a second album but they were cancelled.

Ricardo Mollo produced Almafuerte’s third album, Almafuerte. Years before he had been considered to join V8 as a guitarist, which did not take place since a week before Mollo had been invited to be part of Sumo next to Luca Prodan. Iorio points out that Mollo’s group MAM, prior to the formation of Sumo, was the first heavy music group that he saw in his life.
