Actress Shannen Doherty (52) has been battling cancer for many years. The “Charmed” star was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time in 2015. In 2020, she announced that she had been diagnosed with stage four breast cancer again. In June this year, Doherty revealed that the cancer had metastasized to her brain – a shocking update. Towards the end of the question period, the audience rose to their feet and applauded Doherty for her public battle against breast cancer. “Thank you very much,” she called out to the audience. “You know how much I love crying all the time. And I do now, it seems. So, thank you.”
Doherty decided early on to openly discuss her illness in order to encourage other sufferers. “It’s not about being a warrior or a survivor. It’s about continuing to live and grow with cancer,” she wrote on Instagram around October 2020.
